ARC Raiders has undoubtedly become a favorite among shooting game enthusiasts recently. However, attracting players with short-term hype and novelty is easy; the challenge lies in sustainable development.
In fact, less than a month after its release, ARC Raiders player community has already seen a lot of debate. However, players aren’t simply criticizing the game; instead, they’re offering suggestions and ideas for improvement based on existing shortcomings.
IGGM has compiled several key points based on recent popular ARC Raiders controversies and offers related suggestions, hoping the game can be optimized and expanded in these areas in the future.
Enhance The Meaning Of Expeditions
Generally, if your weapons are excellent enough and your teammates and you are capable enough in combat, you can bring back a lot of ARC Raiders coins from each adventure.
These loot items are not only necessary for leveling up your character but also proof of your ability. However, for a mature game, there should be a dedicated progress system to track and mark your achievements in real time.
In fact, Expeditions system in ARC Raiders essentially fulfills this role. It resets your character’s progress in exchange for permanent buffs that will take effect in the next cycle.
To participate in this gameplay, you need to submit materials to build a caravan after reaching level 20, and then send your Raiders on an expedition within the launch window.
While the buffs from this system are permanent and reflect your character’s growth trajectory through subsequent character strength, they lack tangible markers, such as permanently unlocking a skill or blueprint upon completion.
Interestingly, some in the community have previously argued that ARC Raiders lacks a mechanism that provides players with a clear sense of accomplishment, and Expeditions is undoubtedly a good starting point.
Add A Special Photo Collection Feature
Given the game’s beautiful and realistic visuals, even without a dedicated photography system, many players enjoy using binoculars to capture and record the game’s unique scenery.
Given this, why doesn’t the development team try adding and refining a photo function, along with a photo collection mechanism?
The envisioned system should allow players to activate the camera at any time, enjoying and recording scenic views according to their preferences, or taking photos of specific locations or items to unlock more ARC Raiders items as rewards.
This would not only satisfy photography enthusiasts but also incentivize uninterested players to participate for the rewards, adding more discussion and appeal to ARC Raiders from a visual perspective.
Update With More Powerful ARC Enemies
Currently, ARC Raiders features over ten types of PvE enemies. Some rely on sheer numbers, harassing you with group attacks; others are extremely powerful single-target bosses, such as Shredder, capable of instantly killing almost any early-to-mid-game player.

However, if you buy ARC Raiders items and continuously improve through combat, you will eventually find the skills to deal with all enemies and bravely face the most dangerous ARC robots.
Therefore, to prevent you from becoming invincible and having nothing left to do (unless you prefer PvP combat), ARC Raiders should regularly update its PvE enemy types and ensure their combat mechanics are not similar to previous ones.
Add New Maps And Easter Eggs
For games like ARC Raiders, which use different maps as battlegrounds, regularly adding new maps is a way to maintain freshness and appeal – Call of Duty Black Ops series does the same.
Different maps offer different terrains and landscapes, providing not only visual stimulation but also requiring players to adapt their tactics to different environments, thus enhancing the game’s replayability.
Furthermore, ARC Raiders can hide Easter eggs within the maps, such as clues about the origins of ARC enemies or items representing other games from the same developer, encouraging exploration.
Currently, ARC Raiders has six base maps (including Practice Range), and it has also creatively introduced modified maps to enrich the farming value and fun of each map.
It must be said that the game has done a wonderful job in this regard, and it should continue to maintain this approach.
Allow Customizable Bases
As one core of ARC Raiders, the base currently primarily serves as a storage and crafting space. However, aside from combat, you consume almost all your remaining game time there. So why not make the base feel more like a “home”?
Therefore, the development team should create a separate room within the base, allowing you to collect or craft furniture and decorations to personalize it.
This feature not only enhances the base’s presence but also improves the game’s casual feel, attracting players interested in this aspect and expanding the audience.
Based on this, different maps could offer corresponding styles of furniture or crafting recipes as drops, giving you the opportunity to create your own mini-Buried City or Blue Gate within your own space.
Add Pure PvE Modes
Trends always come full circle. After PvP and PvPvE craze, some players are now looking for pure PvE shooters. While ARC Raiders is a PvPvE game, its interesting ARC enemy mechanics could easily warrant a standalone PvE mode.
In fact, players have already offered many suggestions and speculations regarding this gameplay, such as integrating it with the main storyline or requiring players to defeat a certain number of robots within a time limit.
In short, there are many ways to further improve ARC Raiders. While this makes the game seem incomplete at this stage, it also demonstrates its immense potential for development.
Fortunately, some of the plans we’ve mentioned are already on the development team’s agenda. ARC Raiders should become richer and more fun in the future; let’s wait and see!
